Because it shows maxima at the wavelength of 205 nm and 273
nm and shows and also shows minima at the wavelength of 245
nm. It is a Primary reference standard and it is avaliable
in the market very easily.It is cheap.It is non-degradable
and we can used it for longer period of analysis.

some product having water content method with pyridine and ethylene glycol mixture instead of methanol? how they are selecting and methanol is not suitable solvent how ?
